7am. I have a 7am class. The college advisors expect me to actually be up and functional enough to learn things...at 7am. I think I'm going to have to learn to mainline coffee to make this happen.

Also, it seems that the Osaka University tennis coach found out that I am a coach as well. She also did some digging on me and has been asking me if I want to play for the college team. She said that there could be scholarship opportunities. I pointed out that I have a conflict of interests. Mostly that I'm not interested. I have my own boys to coach. Besides, I haven't played competitively in eons. I seriously doubt I'm what she's hoping for in a player, even if I did play. I did have the reputation of 'the most frustrating player' for a reason.

I am typically awake by at least 5:30. If it would help I am not against calling you when you have class until you wake. After a while it will become second nature to you.

That is a shame. I would have enjoyed seeing you play.

Maybe you are and maybe you are not, I am curious. I am not looking to win, Osamu-san. I have no intention of attempting to beat you at tennis, nor am I interested in anyone losing. I am interested in seeing you play.

I know you're not and neither am I. Which is part of the problem. I don't take it seriously and that drives a lot of opponents a little crazy. But if it's just for fun and you don't mind me being utterly lazy and ridiculous, I'll be more than happy to play you the way I used to before I quit.

Afternoons are for coaching my boys.

It would probably be the best time for it, since the season is only just starting for us. But I quit for a reason. I quit because it had stopped being about fun. I don't know if the college team would appreciate my specific brand of tennis.

Don't be. You can always go back. If not this year, than next. Whenever. You have a lot of life left so you can take your time and do things at your own pace.
